An old woman looks back upon her live in the small Dutch village in which she used to run everything. It was a closed and tight community in which freedom and feminism was of the utmost importance.
It is probably one of the Dutch movies with the biggest amount of International prizes on its name. Among them an Oscar and a BAFTA award for the best Foreign language film. Willeke Van Ammelrooy is a name you should remember; without a doubt the biggest Dutch actress of all time.
