Based on the book of the popular Dutch author Tim Krabbe (brother of actor and director Jeroen Krabbe). A young couple, Saska and Rex, go on a holiday but there Saskia gets kidnapped. She is gone without a trace. Not to be heard from until after three years Lex strarts receiving letters that appear to be from his wife’s abductor.
In comparison to the other Dutch movies on the list, this one has had a fairly modest international succes. Nationally it did receive the prestigious Golden Calf award for best Film. The film, as well as the book, were very popular in the Netherlands
