Unlike the television of other countries, the Spanish series appear to be very popular outside of Spain. Perhaps this has something to with the Spanish language being a world language. Or perhaps it is just because they are so good.

1. 7 Vidas – 7 Lives (1999 – 2006)
7 Vidas is without a doubt the most popular Spanish TV Series of all time. We believe it is also one of the best Spanish TV-Series. It is not only the most popular tv show it is also the longest running Spanish tv show.
Although it is originally inspired by the American sitcom Friends, it in the end turned out to be completely different. Althought the concept is the same the feel about it is very different.

2. Aqui no hay quien viva (2003-)
A very funny and original Spanish Comedy series. It is about a bunch of people living in the same building in Madrid. It became very popular due to its ability to include current issues in Spanish society. It is also very good at portraying characters symbolizing certain stereotypical people in Spain. It has been exported to a lot of countries in Europe. The concept that is. Not the original Spanish Version. In Latin America the original was broadcasted. Currently they Ben Silverman and Sofia Vergara are also filming the American version that shall be named I Hate This Place.

3. Aida (2005-).
The Spin-off of 7 Vidas about a Spanish woman representing the working class. She was already known to be very vulgar in 7 Vidas and this did not change in this spin-off. She is also a mother of two teenagers. Due to financial difficulties she has to move in with her mother and brother.
It is the best watched tv show of Spain since 2007. It has received a lot of tv awards, amongst which the Ondas Award for best sit-com.
